The mystical sounds are something that enchants everybody during an OM Chanting Circle. Some of the common sounds one may hear during an OM Chanting circle are the bells, conch, harmonium, crickets, flute and so on. Many may wonder if these are really mystical or are simply over-tones created by a group of people singing together. However the sounds aren't the only thing mystical about OM Chanting, instead is the wholesome experience of sitting through the session that inspires our heart. Thanks to Paramahamsa Vishwananda's Grace that we are able to experience Om Chanting since 2012 here in Malaysia.
It is always very interesting to hear various experiences shared by the Om Chanting participants. Apart from mystical sounds, some are able to see lights, some hear complex Mantras, some feel heat and vibrations over their body and others feel movement of energy in the air. Some blessed and gifted participants are able to experience complex visions and in many occasions have seen apparitions of Mahavatar Bababji and Paramahamsa Vishwananda walking around the circle blessing every individual in it. Interestingly only recently one of our long term participant heard the mystical bell sounds for the first time despite attending multiple OM Chanting circles. Usually the bells are immediately heard even at the beginning of an Om Chanting circle.
These different experiences explain that everyone is going through different phases of spiritual progress. One of the techniques given by Mahavatar Babaji and Paramahamsa Vishwananda in Atma Kriya Yoga is Nada Kriya. It is a Kriya meditation technique that allows one to experience these mystical sounds in silent concentration. Different mystical sound are tapped when our energy rises and pierces through different layers of Karma.
The beauty of Om Chanting circles is that with help of the Masters and the entire group's effort, the energy level is immediately raised to great heights allowing us to tap to these amazing mystical sounds and spiritual experiences. This may take many years of disciplined Sadhana (spiritual practice) if it is to be achieved alone. Every Om Chanting session is a privilege and chance for us to improve our focus, concentration and expression of Love towards Guru and God, better then the previous session.
